Summary:
Automotive manufacturers create sophisticated electric power assisted steering (EPAS) systems that enhance the performance of their vehicles and improve their fuel efficiency. In this paper, a smart control system that incorporates inputs such as direction, velocity, and driver torque has been developed to improve the overall efficiency of vehicles. The system is able to calculate numerous driver-specific inputs and generate steering related outputs (angular velocity, angular difference, output torque) which would help a driver by supplying the adequate torque to help them turn the wheels easily or more comfortably depending on various road and driving conditions.
