TECHNOLOGY:
A Biosensor that can Rapidly Detect Airborne Viruses and Bacteria
AFFILIATION:
Phoenix Biometrics, Inc., Tucson, Arizona, United States
TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY
Area:
Diagnostic technologies for identification of SARS-CoV-2 from human nasal, buccal, or saliva samples
Tech Brief: We have tested our patented biosensor with very small amounts of airborne virus and bacteria in 0.003 seconds with a very high degree of accuracy.
SHOWCASE SUMMARY
Org Type:
Early-stage Startup (Seed)
FIGURES OF MERIT
Value Proposition: We envision this biosensor to have many uses in viral, bacteria, mold, explosives, and other environmental contaminants. The US Food & Drug Administration has mandated that all agricultural irrigation water must be tested on a continual basis for bacteria and viruses. Additionally, we believe our sensor could vastly increase the food safety throughout the world by rapid detection of food borne pathogens. Finally, we have been approached by several defense/homeland security companies to license this technology for military uses.
