Tech Brief: Our solution is a biosensor platform technology, suitable for smartphone integration, providing a portable, multi-day, continuous-use Covid-19 saliva test. Configurable for many diverse applications, the biosensor is essentially a low-cost, consumer-volume, AI-enabled implementation of the well-established Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) technique using specially developed disposable paper nano-structured films.

Value Proposition: Our initial focus is on characterizing molecules for disease diagnosis, our application specific biosensor platform technology can be customized to detect any molecule, or combination of molecules, in a wide range of applications. In the longer-term, industry sectors that would benefit include, pharmaceuticals, food and agriculture, environmental sensing and chemicals. Our technology offers commercial partners unique benefits including: a) Implementational versatility from application-specific handheld consumer devices to integration within lab-on-a chip sensors, operating from the UV to radio wave bands; b) A sensor solution founded on well-established SERS and nano optical surface technology combined with our successful track record of translating nano surface optical technologies into consumer devices. c) The components of our biosensor can be manufactured at a dramatically reduced cost, even with existing plant and using currently available materials; d) Miniaturization resulting from inherent low form-factor device will allow a migration from the generalized lab scale instruments of today to low-cost, portable, disease-specific point of care solutions of tomorrow. Our ability to provide a biosensor solution into an already existing market with an extensive range of applications will have a transformative impact on both our revenue and the overall market growth.
