TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY
Area:
Detection technologies for identification of SARS-CoV-2 from environmental samples
Tech Brief: Our solution involves the development of an Internet of Things (IoT) -based device to permit the multi-pronged detection of pathogens. The device employs several different innovative technologies to permit testing for a pathogen of interest (such as SARS-CoV-2) by non-laboratory personnel, with results returned in 15-30 minutes.

Value Proposition: In the near term, our platform and processes will provide fast, accurate, and lower-cost testing for SARS-CoV-2 in almost any business in our distribution network. Additionally, our clientele will gain further financial and time-based savings by having the ability to use our platform with in-house resources or custodial services for environmental sample gathering. Long-term, using our full platform will offer the ability to provide full in-house multi-pathogen detection on surfaces, in the air, and in individuals. Our platform’s benefits can also result in further savings for businesses requiring any validated sanitation or health data required by current or future FDA and/or OSHA-mandated testing. Additionally, the ability to use our portable IoT device in remote set-ups can provide a testing platform for areas that are often a nidus for communicable disease transmission and nosocomial infections. Examples of such areas include temporary work sites, emergency triage tents, natural disaster shelters, temporary military facilities, and mobile remote military hospitals.
