TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY
Area:
Technologies for improved delivery of supplemental oxygen
Tech Brief: A new portable oxygen concentrator (POC) that delivers higher flows and oxygen concentration. This POC device would also couple remote oxygen monitoring, including SpO2 with pulse and ability to adjust flow.

FIGURES OF MERIT
Value Proposition: There are currently many issues in oxygen therapy and our new POC can solve most of them. Currently oxygen users are concerned with mechanical issues being one of the top concerns for supplemental oxygen users. Many oxygen users will take their nasal cannula out of their nose every few minutes to check and ensure the oxygen is still flowing. Having a device like ours would allow key information such as oxygen flow, SpO2, pulse and battery levels to be displayed and even transmitted for remote viewing. There are also issues with adjusting the oxygen flow, with our device will allow the user to adjust their oxygen flow based upon SpO2. This will ensure the proper amount of oxygen is delivered and even help with proper oxygen titration. This new POC is needed based upon years of customer discovery and market research reports. There are local alarms if anything is outside of normal parameters and even remote notifications that can be sent. We can transmit data to the oxygen user’s family, caregiver, doctor, nurse or oxygen supplier. By monitoring the user’s SpO2, which a decrease can be an early predictor of COVID can help monitor our most vulnerable.
