Laboratory Program Director, Energy Systems Integration

Dr. Martha Symko-Davies is currently a Laboratory Program Director for the Energy Systems Integration at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden.  In this role she manages the accelerating clean energy@scale effort (ACES) focused on community- driven, customized and holistic modelling that turns ambitions into actions through illustrative plans. ACES provides data-driven, technically sound, actionable insights through the Department of Energy and key partnerships of over $40M annually. Overall, this effort impacts diverse and wide-range energy goals and transitions—in small communities to regional collaboratives—building momentum toward a national equitable, clean energy economy. Her past experience was the Laboratory Program Director for the Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF) where in the role she managed the facility and Infrastructure of $37.5M for the Department of Energy (DOE) EERE. ESIF is the nation’s first research facility able to conduct integrated megawatt-scale research, development, and testing of the components and strategies needed to safely integrate clean energy technologies seamlessly.

Additionally, she has received 4 R&D awards with industry as well as many publications and awards in the area of Energy Systems Integration.
