Lloyd Reaves is a senior engineering leader with more than 30 years of experience across rotorcraft, fixed wing, and unmanned systems development. He currently serves as a Chief Engineer Emerging Technologies at L3Harris, providing executive level program oversight, systems engineering leadership, configuration and design management, and strategic technical direction across multiple advanced aviation programs.


Lloyd is a recognized subject matter expert in the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), having led MOSA initiatives, IRAD efforts, and systems integration laboratories that directly support PEO Aviation and multiple corporate pursuits. His leadership has been instrumental in advancing MOSA based architectures for manned and unmanned platforms, including efforts spanning the Armed Overwatch program, Next Generation Multimodal Aircraft, and multiple Modular Open Systems Approach SIL developments.


Throughout his career, Lloyd has guided multifunctional and multi company engineering teams to successful delivery of complex systems, including the FARA Full Scale Mockup, FARA Marketing Simulator, Airbus ALC program, International Sky Raider II, and multiple international BizJet and UAS development efforts. His background includes significant rotorcraft engineering and certification experience through senior roles at Airbus Helicopters, where he oversaw UH 72A Lakota helicopter engineering and FAA compliance activities, as well as major contributions to Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A330/A340 programs earlier in his career.


Lloyd holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Mississippi State University along with extensive technical and leadership training in program management, airworthiness, and aviation systems. He serves in multiple professional leadership roles, including within the American Helicopter Society (AHS) and the Aerospace and Defense Forum.


His career is distinguished by consistent delivery of complex, high visibility aviation programs, a deep commitment to engineering rigor, and industry leading contributions in Modular Open Systems Architecture development and integration
