James (Jim) Glynn

Mr. Glynn has over 45 years of small business experience spanning start-ups to mature small business organizations.  Mr. Glynn joined Physical Sciences Inc. (PSI) in 2002 to lead PSI’s Marine Technologies Enterprise where he led innovative technology development programs in undersea sensing, robotics, and autonomous systems.  Mr. Glynn currently leads PSI’s Business Development and Technology Transition efforts spanning PSI’s technology portfolio.  In this role, Mr. Glynn engages with program managers in government and industry to define challenges in the maritime and undersea domain in areas including optics, acoustics, lasers, battery systems, and energetic materials, and then “connects the dots” with PSI’s scientific and engineering staff to develop solutions.  Mr. Glynn is a passionate problem solver, dedicated to advancing US Maritime & Undersea Capabilities.

PSI was established in 1973 to provide integrated experimental, analytical, engineering, and product development capabilities to government and industry, with the goal of technology transition and product sales to a broad range of user communities. PSI conducts a wide variety of basic and applied research, engineering, and product development activities in the areas of materials and structures development, radiation, photonic, and optical detection technologies, aeronautics, networked sensors, life sciences, and robotics.  PSI is a national leader in the transition of technologies developed under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.
