
Jose Recio is an Assistant General Counsel handling general legal and government Data Rights matters for Collins Aerospace. Jose has 15 years of IP experience and advises Collins business units on Data Rights strategies in developmental, sustainment and aftermarket programs with the federal government. Before joining Collins Aerospace he was an Investigative Attorney in the U.S. International Trade Commission, where he represented the federal government in Section 337 investigations alleging infringements of domestic intellectual property rights. Previously, he also was an attorney in the Washington, D.C. office of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner LLP, where he focused on IP litigation, prosecution, transactions, advice, and counseling. Jose also spent two years as a law clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Before going to law school, he was a mechanical engineer for a company that developed miniature cooling systems for space and military applications. Jose holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Central Florida and a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School.
