Dr. Bob Ross is the Innovation Hub Director for the Cyber Fusion Innovation Center (CFIC) located at the Georgia Cyber Center, Augusta, GA. As the Innovation Hub Director, Dr. Ross is responsible for supporting U.S. Army Cyber Command in finding solutions to their most complex and time-sensitive challenges. The CFIC does this through collaboration with academia, industry, and other government partners. The CFIC supports the Army Cyber Command through discovery, engagement, and the acceleration of the CFIC’s rapid prototyping process. Dr. Ross is also an instructor at Augusta University where he teaches Information Warfare and Cyber Intelligence & Policy in the Master of Arts Program for Intelligence & Security Studies. Dr. Ross retired from the U.S. Army after 30 years of service. While on active duty, Dr. Ross served as both a Field Artillery and Cyberspace Operations Officer. In his last Army position, Dr. Ross served as the Strategic Initiatives Group Chief for the Commanding General of U.S. Army Cyber Command, Fort Eisenhower, GA. In this position he advised the ARCYBER Commanding General on cybersecurity, information-age conflict, and information warfare strategy. He is a former assistant professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY. He is also a former Chief Research Scientist for the Army Cyber Institute, a position in which he served as the Information Warfare Team Lead. He has a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Rowan University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Monmouth University, and a Ph.D. in Information Science from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is also a decorated veteran with two combat deployments to Iraq and an operational deployment to Kosovo. His research interests are organizational science, strategic foresight, information warfare, 21st century conflict, and cybersecurity.
Dr. Ross is originally from Egg Harbor City, NJ. He now resides in Aiken, SC and is the father of two children, Matthew (21) and Emily (16).
