Russel Like is a Senior Technical Leader at the Electric
Power Research Institute (EPRI). Russel
focuses on economic and cost-benefit analysis for the electric energy industry
(including the economics of energy resilience). He works extensively with
EPRI’s DER Integration program, which helps energy companies recognize and
manage the challenges of incorporating increasing levels of distributed energy
resources on the transmission and distribution networks. Russel contributes economic analysis to a
diverse array of projects, ranging from flexible interconnection of generation
resources to the life cycle of material from wind turbines. Russel specializes
in the valuation of energy resilience and leads EPRI’s Value of Resilience
Working Group (VRWG), which provides a platform for discussing value of
resilience research and shaping the development of useful metrics, tools, and
frameworks. Russel has extensive experience with energy markets, regulation,
and policy, and was closely involved in the deregulation of New Jersey’s
generation sector. Prior to joining
EPRI, Russel was at the New Jersey Energy Resilience Bank, which finances the
installation of high-efficiency, resilient distributed generation resources at
hospitals and wastewater treatment facilities.
