Maj. Gen. Michael “Mac” McCurry is responsible for ensuring the Command operates effectively by facilitating prompt and informed decision-making, resolving complex problems, integrating critical information, and maintaining clear communication across all levels. His role is pivotal in streamlining processes and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve the Command’s objectives. McCurry is a native of Meridian, ID and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry in 1988.
Following graduation, he became a Regular Army Aviation Officer and a Scout Helicopter Pilot. He has served in command and leadership positions in Iraq, Kuwait, Turkey, Germany, South Korea and the U.S., most recently serving as the Commanding General of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence, Fort Novosel, Alabama.
Maj. Gen. McCurry holds advanced degrees in National Strategic Policy from the U.S. Naval War College, and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He is also a graduate of the National Security Policy Program and the Naval Operational Planner’s Course and is a certified Joint and Maritime Operational Planner.
