Roberta Leão is a technology commercialization leader and entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience scaling emerging technologies across sustainable chemicals, biomaterials, food technology, agriculture, and bioenergy. She is Co-founder and CEO of Ecovaleric.
Her experience includes developing biomass supply chains, bringing industrial food-processing technologies to market, building business partnerships, and developing commercialization strategies for new industrial technologies. She focuses on moving technologies from technical validation to commercial deployment, including manufacturing scale-up, supply chains, capital requirements, application development, and customer adoption.
At Ecovaleric, Roberta is advancing modular electrochemical manufacturing for biomass-derived chemicals and materials. The company’s first commercial product is gamma-valerolactone (GVL), a bio-based industrial solvent and chemical intermediate for advanced manufacturing applications.
