Sara Peterson is an energy security and resilience researcher at the National Laboratory of the Rockies specializing in critical infrastructure resilience, human impacts analysis, and consequence modeling. Through her dissertation research and her time at NLR, Sara has led the development, refinement, and application of metrics and models quantifying the diverse societal consequences associated with power outages and infrastructure disruption events. A strategic and innovative thinker, Sara’s diverse portfolio ranges from conducting local, community-engaged research to modeling interconnected infrastructure systems to support national security initiatives. Sara holds a PhD in geography and MS in GIScience from the University at Buffalo and a BA in Geography from Dartmouth College.
