Kate Espinosa is a Project Manager at the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) and a Major in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. She leads a portfolio of applied research focused on energy resilience, critical infrastructure, and mission assurance, with an emphasis on remote and high-risk operating environments. Her work integrates advanced modeling, risk analysis, and cross-disciplinary research to help military and civilian partners understand how disruptions to energy systems and other critical infrastructure affect operational readiness. Prior to joining NLR, Kate served in a variety of operational and strategic leadership roles across the U.S. Air Force, including assignments with Air Force Global Strike Command, Pacific Air Forces, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, and the U.S. Department of State.
