Captain Teddy Herrera, a native of Las Cruces, New Mexico, commissioned as a Marine Corps officer in August 2019 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University.  During his initial assignment with Marine Air Support Squadron 3 from 2020 to 2023, he served in multiple leadership billets and deployed to Australia in support of Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 22.2, executing pioneering air control concepts.  He subsequently earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Naval Postgraduate School in 2025 and currently serves as the Expeditionary Energy Officer at Marine Corps Systems Command.
