Ph.D. Student in Cyber Studies and Graduate Research Assistant

University of Tulsa

Arafat Asim is a final-year Ph.D. student in Cyber Studies at the University of Tulsa and a Graduate Research Assistant working in critical-infrastructure cybersecurity ran by DOE. Originally from Bangladesh, his research focuses on the security and resilience of cyber-physical and operational technology systems, particularly in the energy sector.

His work examines how network activity, industrial control data, and physical measurements can be combined to better understand system behavior, detect abnormal conditions, and support resilient operation of electric-power infrastructure. His broader interests include cyber-physical observability, industrial control system security, anomaly detection, and resilient system design.

After completing his Ph.D., he plans to continue in advanced cybersecurity research, applied research, with a focus on protecting energy and other critical infrastructure. Outside of research, he enjoys playing FIFA and card games with friends.
