Tyler Mantel is a Senior Advisor in the U.S. Small Business
Administration’s Office of Investment and Innovation, a two-time founder, and a
venture investor. He has built companies, funded them, and taught others to do
both.
As co-founder and general partner of Roll Tack Ventures,
Tyler has backed startups tackling mission-critical challenges for industrial
customers. Previously, he served as Director of Ventures at Purdue Research
Foundation, managing $35 million across six funds and 45 portfolio companies.
Tyler co-founded Watchtower Robotics, an MIT spinout whose
leak-detection robots helped utilities in five countries reduce water loss. He
also co-founded TVP Health, which earned FDA authorization in under a year,
deployed devices across three continents, and was acquired in 2022. He has
taught entrepreneurship at Harvard University and holds degrees in mechanical
and chemical engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the University
of Cincinnati.
