Lyn Womack is the Deputy National Ombudsman in SBA’s Office of the National Ombudsman (ONO), having joined ONO in August 2024.  ONO helps small businesses when they experience excessive or unfair federal regulatory enforcement actions and assists small business with federal regulatory compliance. Prior to ONO, she was the Director of Fund Administration and Fund Accounting with the Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) Program in SBA’s Office of Investment and Innovation (OII).  As Director, Lyn was responsible for the administration and accounting of SBIC leverage guarantees, oversight of SBIC fund accounting, valuations of SBIC small business concerns, and oversight of program performance analysis.  Previously in OII, she served as the Chief of SBIC Funding Administration, a Senior Financial Analyst, and Financial Analyst dating back to 2000.   

From 2003 to 2005, Lyn served as an Economic Development Specialist in the Hawaii District Office where she worked to assist small businesses both directly and through the local Small Business Development Center and Women’s Business Center.  During her time at SBA, Lyn has gained a breadth of experience to help SBA achieve its mission to start, grow, and build resilient businesses. 

Prior to SBA, Lyn was an International Affairs Specialist at USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service where she worked on foreign technical assistance programs. 

Lyn has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from George Mason University. Her Bachelor of Arts degree is from American University where she majored in International Studies.
