
Shelby Pierson is a former senior U.S. intelligence executive and trusted advisor to technology companies, investors, and boards operating at the intersection of national security, artificial intelligence, geospatial intelligence, and emerging technologies. During a 27-year career with the CIA, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), and Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), she led some of the Intelligence Community's largest analytic and operational organizations and helped modernize the integration of AI, commercial data, and advanced analytics into national security missions.
Today, Shelby advises CEOs, boards, and growth-stage technology companies on government strategy, innovation, AI adoption, and navigating the U.S. national security market. Her work spans geospatial intelligence, commercial remote sensing, maritime intelligence, defense technology, and geopolitical risk.
Shelby serves on corporate boards and advises investors, executive teams, and technology companies focused on national security, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. She also serves on the faculty of Arizona State University's Master of Arts in International Affairs and Leadership program, where she mentors graduate students through capstone and applied national security projects.
She is a recipient of two Presidential Rank Awards, two Director of National Intelligence Excellence Awards, and the NGA Director's Medallion.
