Isa is a Researcher in Energy Equity Projects and Initiatives at the National Renewable Energy Lab in Golden, Colorado. She works in the Integrated Decision Support (IDS) group in the Accelerated Deployment & Decision Support (ADDS) center within the Energy Systems Integration directorate. As a scholar of energy justice, her research focuses on barriers to a just climate transition addressable by energy policies. Leveraging data-science methods, she studies innovations in solar photovoltaic materials, electricity reliability patterns, renewable pathways for emerging electricity grids, decentralized energy systems for electricity access, and equitable access to reliable electricity around the world. She is dedicated to a career in renewable energy and promoting diversity in STEM and sustainability. She completed her PhD in Energy and Resources at the University of California, Berkeley in the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Lab. Her dissertation was titled "Quantitative approaches to energy justice: The theory and praxis of examining fair access to reliable electricity."
