James L. Reed is currently a senior Property Disposal Specialist, DOD Disposal Policy & Compliance Division, Defense Logistics Agency.
Mr. Reed has served the in the federal government, both military and civilian, for more than 35 years. His civilian federal service career has included assignments as a Property Disposal Specialist, Regional Team Chief (West) with the Law Enforcement Support Office, Defense Logistics Agency, and Customer Account Action Officer, Logistics Management Specialist, Navy Team, Defense Logistics Agency, all at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
A retired Army Master Sergeant, Mr. Reed's military service included tours in Panama, Korea, Germany and various stateside assignments. He enjoyed a 20 year career as a Senior Logistics Specialist. His military and civilian awards and decorations include the Secretary of Defense Environmental Award for Sustainability – Individual or Team, the DLA Environmental Award, 2011 Center for Environmental Innovation and Leadership (CEIL) Award, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Army Meritorious Service Medal (2); Army Commendation Medal (3); Army Achievement Medal (7); Good Conduct Medal (6); NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3); Driver/Mechanic Badge; National Defense Service Medal (1); Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (4); Army Service Ribbon; Joint Meritorious Unit Award; Air Force Outstanding Unit Award; and the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award.
Mr. Reed received his Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College. Mr. Reed graduated from the Leadership Development Program Center for Creative Leadership, and the LOGTECH Program in Advanced Logistics and Technology. He is a member of the U.S. Army Association of Quartermasters and the recipient of the Honorable Order of St. Martin. Mr. Reed and his wife currently reside in Woodbridge, Virginia.
