Peter Speer is a Program Manager within the Global Security Division at the Department of Energy’s Kansas City National Security Campus. The DOE’s newest state-of-the-art manufacturing facility provides diverse engineering, advanced manufacturing and secure sourcing services for national security.
Global Security delivers engineering solutions and quick response to classified national security challenges for other government agencies, supporting such mission areas as WMD proliferation deterrence, counter terrorism, and supply chain surety. In his role, Pete is responsible for the Global Security Advanced RF Program, he is tasked with leading the design, development, production, testing, and development of RF products. He regularly interfaces with new customers and provides quick turn response and rapid product realization for six unique customer sets within the IC community.
Pete has a BS graduate degree in computer and electrical engineering from Kansas State University and has completed his MS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kansas. His graduate studies were in electrically small printed antennas and their implementation. Pete has recently won the Global Security Eagle Award of Excellence in 2016 and the FIRST Robotics Woodie Flowers Finalist Award (WFFA) in 2012.
