Philip Hicks is Department of Defense Relationship Lead for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).
Phil’s previous role was as Senior Project Manager and Consultant for the Department of State Overseas Building Operations as a Jacobs contractor where he was responsible for leading Washington, DC-based multidisciplinary project teams in developing, planning, assessing, and preparing government solicitation documents in support of the design, renovation and improvement, construction, and lease buildout of existing and new embassies and consulates around the world.
Before his role with the Department of State, Phil was a Senior Business Development Principal with Jacobs leading strategic and operational lines of effort supporting capture management, proposal management, and business development in the National Capital Region for Intelligence Community contracts in information technology and installation support.
Phil earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Phil is a military veteran, retiring after 21 years on active duty in the United States Air Force as a Civil Engineer where he provided the lifecycle support to development, design, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning of infrastructure systems and facilities including emergency services, firefighting, explosive ordnance disposal, housing services, and environmental services. He is a Professional Engineer in Power Systems in Alabama and Virginia and is a Project Management Professional. Phil is married to Monica and has three children, Candace – 27, Daniel – 15, and Samuel – 12.
