Scott McCain is a Lead Associate and an Operational Energy Capability and Risk Analyst who works within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Energy. He is the primary point of contact (POC) for the identification and development of operational energy (OE) and contingency basing initiatives that reduce the sustainment burden and improve mission capability for mission commanders across full spectrum of operations. Among his many roles and responsibilities, he leads multiple Communities of Practice focused on OE demand reduction and building partner capacity through the development of sustainable OE solutions. He is the primary POC for OE demand reduction activities at the tactical edge including Operation Dynamo and Energy to the Edge that contribute to right sizing power generation capabilities in operational settings. He is a key contributor for improving the DOD posture for energy resilience for fixed installation and climate change adaptation.
