Zoe Dormuth is a cybersecurity research engineer for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Her education in computer and electrical engineering complements her background in cybersecurity providing a strong foundation for grid security research. Since joining NREL in 2020, she has supported a variety of projects including the development of the Cyber Range, enhancing NREL’s energy system modeling and cosimulation capabilities, and integrating cloud technologies into complex energy systems. Zoe is leading research on identifying cyber risks in wind infrastructure and evaluating supply chain security through software and firmware enumeration and vulnerability assessments for critical energy infrastructure. Previously, she researched computer architecture, computational biology, and high-performance computing applications in academia. Zoe also has previous experience performing malware analysis, reverse engineering ICS and IoT devices, and automating incident response and forensic analysis processes.
