Associate Director, Strategic Business Development

Raytheon Technologies Research Center (RTRC)

Alison Gotkin is Associate Director of Strategic Business Development at Raytheon Technologies Research Center (RTRC).  She is responsible for developing marketing strategies to grow external business through grants from government agencies within the United States. She particularly focuses on all of DOE, including EERE, ARPA-E, NETL and OE, along with DARPA, IARPA and DHS. Internally, she works with all of Raytheon’s business units, including Pratt & Whitney, Collins Aerospace, Raytheon Missiles & Defense, and Raytheon Intelligence & Space to acquire external R&D funding for new relevant RTX technologies.  To accomplish this growth, she works with strategic partners to market to customers prior to business opportunities being released to ultimately develop winning proposals.  She has been integral to winning multiple $200M proposals for manufacturing institutes, including Smart Manufacturing, Robotics, Flexible Electronics, Lightweight Metals and many other DOE and DoD proposals. Recently, she was inducted into the UCONN Academy of Distinguished Engineers.

Prior to joining UTRC, she was Business Development Manager at ITT Power Solutions where she tripled the external business over five years.  She was responsible for developing marketing strategies for custom power supplies for commercial and defense market segments.  Prior to ITT, she founded Supply Management Solutions (SMS) where she consulted for many small to large business on Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principals.  She helped companies improve their productivity and improve the quality of their products.  Prior to SMS, she joined General Electric through their Manufacturing Management Program (MMP), where she also obtained her Master’s Degree from Boston University in Manufacturing Engineering.  She holds a Bachelor’s of Science, summa cum laude, in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
