Mr. Matthew Sigstad is the Chief of Fuel Logistics and Aviation Sustainment, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force, Operational Energy, Washington, D.C. Mr. Sigstad leads and directs the creation of operational energy logistics and aircraft sustainment processes, procedures, analysis and policy focused on optimizing energy resources and pursuing recommendations that improve support for the operational energy needs of the global United States Air Force mission.

Mr. Sigstad enlisted in the Air Force as a Fuels Specialist in 1991, and served more than 29 years within the Fuels Career Field. He has held a broad range of assignments at the Air Force base level, Numbered Air Force, Major Command and Air Staff. He has also served as the Indo-Pacific Joint Petroleum Office Fuels Manager.

Prior to his current role in Air Force Operational Energy, Mr. Sigstad served as the Air Force Fuels Career Field Manager providing direction and guidance to organize, train and equip 5,200 Active Duty, Air Guard and Reserve personnel supporting 235 locations. Mr. Sigstad brings a wealth of knowledge and operational experience planning and executing joint and combined refueling operations across the globe.
