Alex is Associate Director of the National Center for Environmental Economics and has been at the U.S. EPA since 2009. Since 2019, Alex has served as EPA’s Statistical Official under the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policy Making Act. He has conducted extensive research into the economy-wide impacts of environmental policies, the economics of climate change, and decision making under uncertainty. Alex was recognized for his innovative research contributions with a Presidents Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) in 2015. He has worked extensively on environmental policies related to stationary sources of air pollution and has served on U.S. delegations to the OECD and UN IPCC.
