Vapor-Mediated Synthesis of Silicon Carbide Matrices for Ceramic Matrix Composites

TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY

Employing this technology achieves stronger and more robust ceramic matrix composites by uniformly infiltrating silicon vapor into the ceramic matrix. The technology also improves the manufacturing process by reducing the time to infiltrate a ceramic matrix and increasing the utilization of the materials used in the process.
