Technology enables ‘smart adhesive or mechanical (welded or bolted) joint’ that is self- sensing and provides detailed state of stress or strain of a bonded joint between materials such as metals, fiber reinforced polymers, composites, plastics, ceramics, concrete, and other hybrid materials for automotive, wind, aerospace, and infrastructure markets.
