Hála is a head of the innovation and technology transfer unit at ELI Beamlines since 2012. He is focused on development of innovation ecosystems based on high-power lasers located at the ELI ERIC facilities (Czech Republic, Hungary), generating X-rays, plasmas, or accelerated particles for a wide range of applications. He is also involved in academia-industry policy making and communication, intellectual property protection, regional development in the Central Bohemian region (Czech Republic), and science diplomacy.
