COL Burr H. Miller enlisted in the Army in 1989. Upon completion of Infantry Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, he served as an enlisted Infantryman at multiple duty locations and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. In 1998, COL Miller commissioned into the Quartermaster Corps following graduation from Officer Candidate School. In 2006, he joined the Army Acquisition Corps.
COL Miller’s acquisition experience includes: Assistant Product Manager for PEO Soldier- Rapid Fielding Initiative; Executive Officer PEO Soldier; Assistant Product Manager for Personnel Recovery Support Equipment; Contract Specialist PEO Aviation supporting PMO CH-47F; Deputy Chief of Staff G-5 (Future Plans) for the Army Expeditionary Contracting Command; Army Contracting Writing System- Capabilities Manager for Army Contracting Command; Product Manager for Aviation Mission Equipment, PEO Aviation; Deputy Project Manager for the Aviation Systems Project Office; Chief of Compliance and Policy for the 411th Contracting Support Brigade in Camp Humphreys Korea; and Director, Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Test Range Kwajalein Atoll-Marshall Islands.
COL Miller holds a Master of Business Administration from Tarleton State University and is level III certified in both contracting and program management. COL Miller is a 2021 graduate of the Air War College.
COL Miller’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (6th OLC), Army Commendation Medal (8th OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5th OLC), Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Parachutist Rigger Badge as well as numerous other service awards.
COL Miller is married to the former Christine Houston, who is an Army veteran supporting AMCOM as an Acquisition Threat Support Intelligence Analyst. Their son, Travis, is a student at the University of Oregon.
