Mark Brown is an Associate Director at Collins Aerospace within its Displays, Compute and Networking directorate. He has participated in several open standards bodies, including SAE AADL, SOSA MLST, and IETF TLS. As a systems engineer, he works to harmonize technical standards and suggest certification approaches for teams. He has developed airworthiness training materials for multicore certification, modular certification standards, and model-based system engineering for modularity. He is a co-author of recent Assured Infrastructure Modularities (AIM) proposals, each of which intends to raise awareness of a need to define modules and their modular certification within an Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) context.
