John is the Chief Solution Architecture for JHNA. He also serves as Chairman of the Aviation and Missile Technology Consortium (AMTC) Executive Committee, a Board member of the Vertical Lift Consortium (VLC), and as Board member of the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation and Integration Center (AMIIC). John has more than 25 year of professional experience that includes a unique mix of technical and leadership roles in multiple industries from aviation, industrial controls, cybersecurity, robotics, 3D visualization, missile defense, and active-duty service in the US Air Force. John’s efforts on the JHNA leadership team have directly led to sustained double digit growth from a company of a dozen technical professionals to an industry leader in defense technology approaching $30 Million in annual revenue – and still growing strong! In his capacity as Chief Architect, John is a core member of the leadership team (supporting strategic planning, M&A technical integration, business development, and teaming) as well as providing technical leadership to JHNA architects supporting a variety of defense programs and domains. He notably provides direct support to the US Army Program Executive Office (PEO) for Aviation as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Enterprise Architecture and Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Enterprise Architecture. John has spoken at several national conferences on Open Architecture. His consultations include the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense Modular Open Systems Working Group (MOSWG), the Open Group Architecture Forum, the Future Airborne Capabilities Environment (FACE) Consortium, the Defense Standardization Program (DSP), National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), and several international cooperation programs. He is an entrepreneur at heart, having started and sold a small software consulting company and then later completed the MIT Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp. Most recently, he has been keeping his entrepreneurial momentum going by helping his family start a small batch coffee roasting company (the Foundry) and by mentoring small businesses, including coffee shops, in their startup phase. John holds a Bachelor of Science from Columbia College and has several professional certifications in Architecture (SEI), Systems Engineering (MIT), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), cybersecurity, and project management. He holds a Certificate of Theology and Ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary and has been involved in several non-profit organizations. John is a graduate of the Leadership Greater Huntsville program (class L35). He and his family live in Huntsville, Alabama.
