Fred Knight is the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Lead for the XM30 program at Strategic Technology Consulting (STC), an Arcfield Company. In this role, he leads the development and integration of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA)-aligned architectures for next-generation defense systems, with a focus on interoperability, digital engineering transformation, and accelerated acquisition.
With over eight years of systems engineering experience, Fred has supported major Department of Defense (DoD) programs, including the Navy’s Fleet Ballistic Missile program and the Army’s XM30 Ground Combat System. His work directly contributes to the DoD’s vision for adaptable, technology-agnostic platforms built on open standards.
Prior to joining STC, Fred served as a Lead Systems Engineer at General Dynamics Mission Systems, where he led technical development efforts for critical capabilities on the Columbia Class Submarine. He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering for the University of Southern Maine, and a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering, all from Pennsylvania State University.
