Steven G. Drake

Steven G. Drake served as an Army officer for 26.5 years in both the Air Defense Artillery Branch and Acquisition Corps. During that time, he led and commanded at multiple levels from PATRIOT platoon leader to Program Manager of the Army’s Interoperability Evaluation and Verification Center. Following his military service, Steven supported Army Program Executive Offices and Software Engineering Centers with developing interoperability risk reduction capabilities across their portfolios. Additionally, he supported the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition Logistics and Technology (ASA(ALT)) with developing a common operating environment and information technology standards for its command-and-control infrastructure. Returning to the Government as a Department of the Army civilian, Steven serves in the office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Data, Engineering and Software, leading the team developing policies and tools that are promoting modular open systems approach and architectures, reforming the software acquisition process, and enabling automated cloud-based interoperability testing and certification. Steven has two grown children, Chloe’ and Gregory, and he is married to his wonderful wife Morgan.
