U) Lieutenant Colonel Michael A. Tanner is the Digital Systems Materiel Leader for the Advanced Aircraft Division in the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center.  He leads a 182-member team of Government and contractor employees to develop, integrate, test, and deploy digital systems for a portfolio of advanced aircraft.

(U) Lieutenant Colonel Tanner received his commission through the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he earned a Bachelor of Science in both computer engineering and computer science.  He has previously served in the program management roles in the National Capital Region, Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the United States Air Force Academy, and as an engineer at the Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate to test next-generation weapons.
