Dr. Stephanie Brown Reitmeier was appointed to the Senior Executive Service February 11, 2024. She serves as the Director for the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration (S3I) Directorate, U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center. Under her direction, S3I develops and delivers responsive aviation and missile total life cycle systems engineering, prototyping, cyber, software, protective technologies, and systems simulation engineering to enable readiness and ensure transformation of the U.S. Army to optimize joint Warfighter capabilities at the point of need. S3I is also the home of AvMC’s Prototype Integration Facility (PIF) - the premier provider of rapid response and integrated hardware solutions. She leads a highly skilled, credible, and diverse workforce, which is responsive to customer requirements: cost, schedule, and performance. Dr. Reitmeier directs execution of over $2B in Army and Joint Service funding ensuring the readiness of both the current and future force aviation and missile systems.
Prior to her current assignment, she served as the Associate Director for the DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center’s Propulsion and Structures Area within the Technology Development Directorate (TDD). There she provided leadership, management, direction and supervision for team members providing life cycle support activities for missile and auxiliary systems supporting the Army’s modernization and sustainment priorities including: Science and Technology, prototyping, sustainment, and demilitarization activities.
Throughout her career she has held a variety of leadership positions at DEVCOM AvMC, providing technical expertise and leadership for the development of weapon systems and technology. Dr. Reitmeier has successfully lead efforts in both the customer reimbursable and S&T arena. Her focus on teamwork has led to the successful transition of missile technologies ranging from launchers to thermal protection systems for hypersonic weapons. Her technical background in missile development, demilitarization and system simulation has provided her a unique prospective on the life cycle of weapon system development.
Dr. Reitmeier has a proven track record of creating and employing teams of government and industry partners to meet Army priorities. Her focus on mentoring and employee development has been a constant personal and professional focus.
Dr. Reitmeier completed her Bachelors of Science and Master degrees in Electrical Engineering and her Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering through the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
