
Dr. Nassib Nabaa is a Senior Principal Systems Engineer at Sierra Nevada Corporation, with nearly 30 years of experience designing, simulating, and testing high-performance guidance, navigation, control (GNC) and tracking algorithms for both manned and unmanned aerial vehicles. He has been involved in the design and flight test of several autonomous refueling and autonomous docking systems, including as the lead GNC engineer and one of the key system architects for the DARPA program that demonstrated the world’s first autonomous airborne refueling (AAR) using the probe and drogue method. More recently, he has been supporting the US Navy’s efforts to develop a MOSA AAR solution as well as supporting Boeing in developing an AAR solution for the MQ-25. Dr. Nabaa received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland, as well as Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He also holds a private pilot license.
