Christopher Green serves as the Capability Lead for Avionics
and Sensors within NASA’s Research and Technology Mission Directorate (RTMD).
In this role, Chris guides the strategic development, maturation, and
integration of avionics architectures, sensing technologies, and flight
critical instrumentation that support NASA’s future mission portfolio. Chris
works closely with teams across NASA centers as well as a broad network of
industry partners, fostering collaboration that accelerates innovation and
strengthens the agency’s avionics and sensor ecosystem. With a background in
electronic parts engineering and flight systems testing NASA’s Goddard Space
Flight Center, Chris brings hands on engineering experience and a systems level
perspective to shaping the future of NASA’s foundational technology capabilities.
His work supports the agency’s commitment to open architectures, sustainable
flight systems, and mission resilience—core themes central to the emerging era
of Modular Open Systems Approaches (MOSA) in space.
