Mr. Cary Pool
serves as the Branch Chief for Architecture, Software, and Cyber within the
Project Manager Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (PM FLRAA) office for the
MV-75 weapon system. In this role, he champions Modular Open Systems
Approach (MOSA) principles, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), digital
backbone implementation, cyber survivability, and modern software integration
across the platform lifecycle. A Computer Engineer from Auburn University, Mr.
Pool brings over 20 years of experience supporting Army Aviation across systems
engineering, digital transformation, open architectures, and technical
leadership.
Mr. Pool’s career reflects a deliberate progression across
critical aviation engineering disciplines. Beginning in flight test and combat
requirements engineering at the Army Aviation Technical Test Center and U.S.
Army Combat Readiness Center, he transitioned to shaping aviation cyber
resilience by establishing the foundational aviation cyber workforce structure
and leading the enterprise-wide establishment of platform cyber assessments
across the PEO Aviation portfolio. He then spearheaded program digital
transformation as the Digital Engineering (DE) Lead, pioneering digital
pathfinder initiatives to connect government and industry environments.
Notably, he leveraged this expertise during the Joint Multi-Role Mission
Systems Architecture Demonstration (JMR MSAD) program, helping
establish the foundational open architecture and model-based environments
that directly paved the way for the FLRAA program of record. He then advanced
through roles as Aviation Cyber Lead, Systems Engineering Integration
Lead, and Acting Systems Engineering Branch Chief, guiding cross-functional
baseline integration before stepping into his current role leading
architecture, software, and cyber.
A long-time contributor to technical initiatives across the
Huntsville defense community, Mr. Pool previously served in executive
leadership roles for regional technology forums, including the National Cyber
Summit and the North Alabama Chapter of the Information Systems Security
Association (ISSA). In his personal time, he enjoys tabletop gaming, home
automation projects, and spending time with his wife and two children.
