Ms. Michelle Gilbert has 16 years of service as an acquisition professional for the United States Army. She currently serves as the Technical Management Division Chief for the Project Management Office, Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA). Ms. Gilbert joined the Capability Program Executive Aviation (CPE AVN) Future Vertical Lift (FVL) efforts in 2015 and has since held multiple positions to include the Deputy for the FLRAA Development and Production Product Management Office (DAPPMO) and the FLRAA Systems Engineering Branch Chief providing subject matter expertise on multiple tasks required during the Materiel Solutions Analysis (MSA) phase and the competitive down select. Major initiatives included leading the establishment and application of Digital Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) as a key tenant of system development, helping shape the acquisition strategy and development of Program of Record (PoR) documentation, and overseeing execution of system preliminary and detail design efforts. Prior to FVL efforts she supported the Project Management Office, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) in various lead roles to include interoperability initiatives and development and production of the Mobile Ground Control Station (MGCS) for the Gray Eagle Product Office.

 

Ms. Gilbert holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) and a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). A native of Huntsville, Alabama, she continues to reside there with her husband. They are the proud parents of a daughter who recently graduated from Auburn University. Outside of her professional commitments and travel, Ms. Gilbert and her husband enjoy dedicating their weekends to extensive home renovation projects.
