Mr. Toohey has been a key architect of Mercury Systems’ mission-critical processing solutions since he joined the company in 2001. He has a BS and MS in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and over 31 years of experience in the architecture and development of innovative, industry leading, processing products. Mr. Toohey has been recognized as a subject matter expert (SME) in multiple areas of security, system management, and modular open system approaches and standards. He represents Mercury on the Board of Directors of the VITA Standards Organization and on the Steering Committee for the Tri-Service Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA) Standard. He was responsible for the original architectural definition and glossary for the VITA 65 (OpenVPX) standard, has served as the working group lead for the VITA 46.11 VPX System Management standard since its inception, and currently leads the VITA 100.20 working group and the System Management working group for SOSA. As a Fellow Chief Technologist for Mercury’s Advanced Concepts Group, he will continue to leverage this expertise in guiding the technical vision for open standards-focused Innovations that Matter® at Mercury.
