Jarrett Holcomb is a Manager (R&D) in the Advanced Electronic Warfare Department of the Defense and Intelligence Solutions division at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) where he focuses on applying next generation research to protect and enable warfighters to accomplish their mission.
After receiving his degree in Electrical Engineering, Jarrett led and developed a revolutionary software architecture designed to test and validate previously untested Electronic Attack waveform parameters. The System Performance And Real-Time Analysis (SPARTA) software later won an R&D100 award for it’s uniqueness and great benefit to the warfighter community. It has since been used on several USAF platforms to verify advanced countermeasure waveform accuracy.
Jarrett’s success in leading the SPARTA software architecture led him to observing low probability of intercept (LPI) threats aiming to harm the warfighter. He transitioned his research focus over to improving Electronic Support (ES) systems and became the principal investigator on multiple internal research projects aiming to apply signal processing techniques from other domains to create highly successful signal extraction algorithms.
Mr. Holcomb currently leads research initiatives using cognitive algorithms, open system architecture, and ultra-wideband receiver applications in the Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations domain.
Jarrett has had significant involvement in the Association of Old Crows, Dixie Crow chapter. He has won multiple awards including the 2020 Research and Development Award, 2023 Joseph W. Kearney Pioneer Award, and the 2023 Future 5 award.
