
Mr.
Thomas as lead for Systems Engineering for the Department of the Navy in the
Office of the Assistance Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and
Acquisition. He is the Department’s Lead for the systems engineering
posture with specific focus on MOSA, Open Standards Architectures, Digital
Engineering, Model and Simulation, Technical Assessments, Technical Policy,
Workforce Development and key areas of the Acquisition Transformation
Strategy.
Prior to Mr. Thomas’ current role, he spent 20 years at NAWCAD and NAVAIR
supporting multiple programs and serving in Command staff positions in
engineering, systems engineering, logistics and program management. He
holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Model and
Simulation, and Defense and Strategic Studies. Additionally, Mr. Thomas is
a qualified in Joint Operation, Information Warfare, and Naval Aviation
Observer Aerospace Engineering Duty Officer in the Navy Reserve with experience
in Space Operations, Surface, Air, and Information Warfare, and is a Systems
Engineering PhD candidate at the Naval Postgraduate School.
