In 2004, Tim Watkins was one of the first US Marine Corps graduate of the Army’s master’s-level Telecommunications Systems Engineering Course (formally FA-24; now FA-26). In 2010, Tim graduated with a Master of Science in Administration in leadership from Central Michigan University and Leavenworth, KS Command and General Staff College. Retiring from the United States Marine Corps as a Marine Corps Communications Officer in 2013, his experience includes information technology, weapon systems, communications infrastructure planning, cybersecurity, and leading Navy and Marines over 4.5 years of deployments. As an expert in cybersecurity, he was a plank owner in the first six combined cyber-kinetic exercises called Cyber Flag and Cyber Guard. Tim joined Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc., as a lead application engineer in 2013. In 2020, Tim became a business development manager under the Global Accounts group, where he provides technology assistance on securing critical infrastructure for customers in the federal government, datacenters, and the nuclear industry. Always focusing on system solutions and how control systems support mission, he assists the Department of Defense in mitigating threats and decreasing response time to events detected within operational environments.
