Currently Ben leads EPRI’s efforts to apply leading-edge technologies and subject matter expertise to member-specific challenges in grid planning and operations, distributed energy resources, and climate analysis. His applications team develops actionable insights regarding impact and capabilities of new technologies through utility-driven demonstrations and cross-cutting projects. The team collaborates with experts across EPRI to produce deliverables that are focused on individual member needs, executed within a shorter time frame, and aimed at answering nearer-term research questions than previously associated with R&D.
Prior to EPRI, Ben received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama, as well as master’s and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech.
