Doug French is one of the founding members of the Defense Innovation Unit’s Energy Portfolio. He currently oversees all efforts in the portfolio focused on deployable, tactical, and operational energy development, including hybridization of tactical vehicles throughout the Army and Marine Corps, electrification of historically internal-combustion small watercraft and aircraft, and other programs dedicated to enhancing operational reach and flexibility through improved energy efficiency and resiliency. He has over 20 years as a Marine Corps intelligence officer and infantry leader as well as commercial investment experience. He holds a BA from the University of Washington and an MA from Harvard.
