PROTECT combines a modest temperature catalytic combustor, high-temperature tolerant thermoelectric devices and a heat recuperator to create a light weight, portable energy source. It converts JP-8 fuel into electricity with 15% efficiency, generating 150-500W with 250W/kg density at 21-30V voltage output.
